Ok, DirecTV just billed me for the NFL Sunday Ticket package. The price was a little higher than usual. I looked at the bill and they charged me $44.95 a month and $16.95 a month (for the superfan HDTV add-on). I have to pay this for six months. That's $371 for the season. Who-ah! I remember it used to cost $190 or $220. Now it's $371? That's almost a 100% increase!
I can literally see the casino from my backyard, so I've decided I'll just watch most of the games there this year for free. I called up DirecTV and told them I'm cancelling. They asked why and I said it was the price. They made me an offer I couldn't refuse. They gave me the superfan HDTV pack for free, and cut the NFL package price from $44.95 a month down to $34.95. Now I'm at $209 for the season instead of $371. That's a $165 savings.
Granted I am an NFL subscriber for a few years, which may have had something to do with the deal I was given. It's not a tremendous saving but $165 is $165 bucks.
